I do love teaching. However, I can say that teaching at a private school brings a whole other set of challenges as compared to teaching in a public school. One thing that will most likely keep me at the private school (even with half the pay) is the incredible support and unity of all the staff. Public school can't hold a candle to it. On the flip side, I have more severe behaviors from students in my private school classroom than I had when I taught in a classroom with children who had documented behavioral/emotional problems!
Many differences, to be sure. Good and not so good. Overall, I know I am where I need to be. I'm thankful to God for that.
Being able to worship at school and teach my children about the Bible is AMAZING! My favorite subject to teach is religion. I hope to move up to a older class in the future and my prayer is that, God willing, this will happen and that I will have a long career with this school. God willing....that is the key. I will follow Him wherever He leads me.
My husband is still looking for a job. We need one.....very much so!
This is all I have time to type. I am exhausted and have not yet adjusted to the year yet.
