Short update today. My husband and I were finally able to watch our oldest daughter in action debating. It is her first year on the debate team as a freshman and we have been hearing wonderful things about her skills at it. All of you who have known her since she was a baby know that she has been debating circles around the adults in her life since preschool. (and we are not stupid people!)
She was amazing. I was really awestruck listening to her. She is really going to take this somewhere. It will be interesting to see if her debate experiences over the next 4 years will influence her adult professional choices for her career.
She looks so tiny to her opponents with her 4'11" height and I think they assume that she will be a easy person to beat. Then she opens her mouth.....WOW! I'm really proud of her and it is a blessing to see another child doing something that is utilizing their natural God given gift.
She'll get home late tonight and I look forward to hearing about the other debates that she had. (she had 3 total but we only saw 1)
Aaaah.....to have a mind like hers..............

- I'm in my early 40's. I am taking a year off from full-time teaching and trying to find something enjoyable on a part-time level. I am the mother of five, four who are still living at home. I'm happily married. I like to live a quiet, peaceful, joyful life. Jesus Christ is my #1 priority in my life. I'm easy to get along with but can be a bit shy in groups and/or public. I am straightforward but am trying to learn to be more nuanced. I try to bless someone every day. I'm a normal, maybe even boring, person and I love that! I also really want a Harley...have wanted one for years but it will probably have to wait until we've raised all these children. One other thing I have planned for years is to build our "earth ship" on some isolated land here in Wyoming. I'd also like to travel all over the world...not planned, guided travel, but more along the lines of having a general idea and setting off. (thankfully my husband is on the same page)

Gracie went out back to play with George (our standard poodle) and she came in this way! Somehow she managed to get the frisbee-disc suck on her body. Maybe George ran out of patience for her puppy-antics and did it? We'll never know!!!!
