A day off! Yippie!

I have today off from work. It is really nice. I'm recovering from what I suspect to be what is often called "walking" pneumonia (never did ask the doc for a diagnosis...just wanted the antibiotics since I knew I needed them) which is happens every couple of years with my asthma. Not a huge deal.

Days like this make me really miss being at-home full-time.

I am really enjoying my job teaching full-time and I know I'd hate it if I were in the public schools. However, working full-time at a private school is a lot more work than my public school teaching friends are required to do. So, when I have a day off.....I really love it!

I made it through my first Catholic Schools Week which is insanity for teachers at Catholic schools! I think I put in more than 70 hours that week...and when that week was over, I promptly came down with what I am now taking meds to get rid of. *lol*

Aaron and I continue to move closer to officially being able to take our first Communion. I am so happy that the past 18 years of intense religious study and seeking have finally come to a close with finding where I "fit"....not to mention what a great bonus it is that my formerly agnostic husband is also right with me! (our children are already members....except for our oldest son who is just a mess right now with all kinds of bad life choices....not going to go there)

I'm also so happy that we did not owe the government this year! See...there is a bright side to taking a nearly $40K pay cut! We get a whopping $900 from the government! Boy oh Joy....(sarcasm here)

Speaking of money, I have a company that I really like. It is "The Great Courses". If you love to learn just for the sake of learning, then check it out. They are running their huge sale now through March 12th. Putting these on the iPod makes it possible to tolerate the treadmill and/or elliptical machine at the gym during the winter months. Not to mention it takes the imagery of me being a hamster on a exercise wheel out of my mind!

Not much to post about.

Second oldest daughter took first at the recent oral interp contest at her school. Our youngest son took 3rd in his grade level at the same event. Oldest daughter just took a 5th place state ranking for her oral interp speech in Jackson this past weekend.

We must be raising some debaters....all you have to do is try to watch any TV show in this house to know that! Even the commercials are up for debate around here.

Have a Blessed Day!
M~
